What we are raising money for.
Every fund below has a specific purpose. Donations are tracked and reported. Nothing goes to overhead until the home is open and licensed.
How funds are tracked
Buddie Sanctuary is in formation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Until the organization is formally established, funds raised are held in a dedicated account and reported publicly. Once the nonprofit is registered, all financial activity will appear in annual IRS filings.

Land and property
Purchase of rural property in North Dakota suitable for a licensed residential child care facility. The property must meet state licensing requirements for outdoor space, bedroom count, and accessibility.

Construction and renovation
Eight private bedrooms, staff quarters, common living areas, a study room, counseling space, and any accessibility upgrades required by licensing. Estimates are based on rural North Dakota construction costs.

Staffing — Year 1
Salaries for house parents, a licensed counselor, and part-time support staff for the first full year of operation. Staff ratios are designed to exceed minimum licensing requirements.

Operating reserve

Where the money comes from
Buddie Sanctuary is funded by two sources: direct donations and a share of Shadow Zodiac revenue.
Donations
100% of every donation is reserved for the Sanctuary. No salaries are paid from donations until the home is open and licensed. Tax-deductible once 501(c)(3) status is granted.
Shadow Zodiac
Shadow Zodiac is a dark-fantasy fiction project. 50% of every sale or subscription goes to Buddie Sanctuary. The other 50% funds the creative work itself.
Platform and payment-processing fees charged by third parties are deducted first, then these splits apply to what remains.
